Text Box: Welcome to the website for The United Methodist Property and Casualty Trust (known as "PACT") program, the insurance and ministry protection (risk management) solution for our churches and affiliated agencies. If you are a local church, we encourage you to work with your annual conference to seek membership in PACT. We understand our community’s needs and thus provide the right level of property, liability, workers compensation and auto coverages for our entities and work on your behalf to insure clear definition to our coverages and to promote ministry protection. While we have lived out our Book of Discipline directive to provide a national program for more than thirty years, it is only recently that we put in place an ownership model (versus a sponsorship program) for annual conferences and agencies - that brings them in to the program as valued partners and participants in the management of an insurance company. You may be aware that many denominations have formed such enterprises and all are successful, proven and led by a Board of Directors representing the constituency of insureds. Our vision is to reclaim dollars for ministry that have been lost through the simple purchase of insurance and reliance on others to manage claims. Our nonprofit insurance company, owned by our United Methodist annual conference and affiliated agencies, is providing first dollar all-lines coverage for all insureds, but as a national group, the insurance company is assuming a percentage of the risk, retaining a percentage of the gross premium and believes with a growth of members and improved ministry protection (reduction in losses), premiums will stabilize and coverages will be further customized and our community will benefit from fewer dollars lost to the cost of insurance, legal fees and claims and safer communities. Some of you may be aware that I previously served as General Counsel to GCFA and have been fortunate to be PACT’s first administrator. I believe my experience there a well as having served as Chancellor in the annual Mississippi Conference and counsel to a another captive will serve me well in this position as I work on your behalf to complement the important work of our other partners in this long term venture, Gallagher Religious Practice Group as program manager for the PACT Service Center and Zurich North America (A+ 15 rated) as our primary reinsurer. Our Board of Directors is composed of annual conference and agency leaders and we insure now more than 20% of all United Methodist organizations. We encourage you to consider your denomination’s program for your Church, and for those of you who are with us, thank you for your confidence, trust and partnership, and let us know how we can bring more resources and services to bear for your local ministry.    C.
